**Update: The moving company has been delayed. We will begin moving the schoolhouse on Monday, May 19th. It will be a multiple day process to stabilize and move the building safely.**

Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) in collaboration with Jefferson County School District and Evergreen Mountain Area Historical Society (EMAHS) will be moving the Historic Evergreen School house to its permanent location in Marshdale Park. Thank you to Stuart Collins with EMAHS, John Steinle and Humphrey History Museum for covering the costs for moving. EPRD will take ownership and has constructed the concrete slab where it will be located.

The move will occur on **May 19th, beginning at 8:30 am and will take several days to support and transport to Marshdale Park. Come out and enjoy watching this historic move and celebrate this piece of Evergreen History!

Evergreen Mountain Area Historical Society and EPRD will use the 10-foot by 15-foot schoolhouse for educational purposes, said EMAHS President Stuart Collins, and the organization hopes to offer living-history programs for children and adults once the building is moved and refurbished.
